Sunday Stand-UP Presents: Nikki Glaser

Welcome back for another edition of Sunday Stand-Up, our weekly blog dedicated to introducing you some of the funniest modern day stand-up comedians around. It doesn’t matter if they’re already popular, rising stars, or relatively unknown – we’ll be bringing them to your attention every week!

Today’s Sunday Stand-Up spotlights a rising comic who earned a name for herself during season 4 of Last Comic Standing, Nikki Glaser. She was awesome enough to make it to the semi-finals, all while still attending college. She continues to perform stand-up comedy in smaller venues located in NYC, however, she has also set her sights different areas of the entertainment industry. Her cutting punchlines and ‘easy on the eyes’ appearance mean she has a bright future ahead of her wherever she chooses to entertain.

Currently, Nikki cohosts the popular comedy podcast, You Had To Be There, and wrote, produced, and hosted a pilot for a late night talk show for MTV.

Here is a clip of Nikki during Season 4 of LCS, where she proves that she’s not afraid to ‘go there’ in her comedy routine.

In our last blog about unconventional art, we’re bringing you a trend made popular long ago in the 90′s. It’s back, and it’s fresh , exciting , different , creative and of course totally awesome . Shown below, is the work of some of the most creative graffiti artists this world has ever seen. Forget Picasso and Leonardo; these artists have shown that your canvas can be anything, and your ideas can range from your own personal dreams to sobering realities. Just looking at these pictures inspires me to try my hand at artistry. Hmm… now where did I put that painting set my aunt gave me for my 11th birthday?

Fun Fact: Michael Phelps eats over 12,000 calories A DAY when training. If the average person ate that much (if they could even eat it without regurgitating) they’d be looking like Fat Albert in no time. But have you ever thought of what kinds of food you’d have to eat to possibly eat that many calories in a day? Simply put, junk food. It’s the fastest and easiest way to consume all them calories.

Along comes furiouspete123, a professional eater and fitness junkie. And here he is eating 12,000 calories.

Sunday Stand-Up Presents: Louis C.K.

Today’s Sunday Stand-Up spotlights famous comedian Louis C.K. You may have heard of his self titled series, Louie, which features his stand-up comedy along with reenactments of things that happened to him in life. Louis first took the stage in 1984 at an open-mic bar, but didn’t achieve success until later on. In the next decade, he would perform on many TV programs, including every major late night show and even getting his own HBO specials in 1996, 2005, 2007, and again in 2012. He has worked with many famous comedians like Jerry Seinfeld and Denis Leary, while also having his own tours of the U.S to promote his act.

Nowadays you can find Louis making guest appearances on popular shows and on FX, where his show “Louie” has earned him much success and popularity, along with 2 Emmy nominations.

Here is one of his most recent acts, “Shameless”. and here is a funny scene from his hit show “Louie”, on FX.

Putting a new meaning to playing with your food , these artists have proven that food and art do go hand in hand; well not exactly food but bubblegum. Yes ladies and germs, the following pictures show their ingenuity when it comes to bubblegum art .Who knew bubblegum could be chewed to make these beauties including sculptures , paintings and other forms of art? Apparently these guys.

P.S all these were made from 100% edible chewing bubblegum…

Video games nowadays are becoming more and more realistic; whether it be advanced AI or increasingly realistic graphics, there’s no question that video games are more immersive than ever. But there is one fantasy, virtual reality gaming, has eluded us…until now.

Presenting Oculus Rift, the future of gaming! How awesome would it be to become a soldier in a futuristic army battling aliens on another planet. Except instead of pressing buttons on a controller or using shotty movement snesors (i’m looking at you, Kinect) you’re actually IN the game instead of just staring at a screen.

We’ve decided to make a small change to our Tuesday Tattoo Fail blog. We realize that while a lot of tattoos are bad, there are some pretty sweet looking ones out there. Although they may be regrettable in a few years when they these people try and land a job that doesn’t require serving french fries and cleaning toilets, for now they’re pretty freakin’ sweet. So we present to you our new blog, Tuesday Tattoo Fail/Win.

With over 550 episodes aired, The Simpsons is one of the most popular shows in the world! You’ve probably seen a few yourself, and surely you thought it was a funny show. But for every person who thinks the show is ‘ok’, there’s another person who is borderline obsessed with The Simpsons. How do I know? Because the internet is a thing!

2012 Olympian Fail: Felipe Kitadai

Imagine winning a medal at the Olympics! Standing on the winners podium and being handed a medal for being one of the best in the entire world at what you do. You’d most likely keep that medal on you at all times as a reminder of how awesome you are.

Well, maybe not ALL times…I’m sure that when it came time for you to shower or something you’d just leave it somewhere safe.

If so, then you’re obviously not Felipe Kitadai. See, Felipe was good enough to earn a Bronze medal in the 60 kilogram judo competition. He was so happy about his accomplishment that he decided to take the medal with him everywhere. Even the shower. Not wanting to get the medal wet however, he stuck it in between his teeth. Unlucky for him, the strap broke and his medal fell to the floor. And the medal broke.

Fortunately, the Brazilian Olympic Committee requested a new medal after the incident which was accepted.

At least this Fail has a happy ending, eh?
